"My biggest plan this year is to have a big coffee plantation farm, worth $. 2500. This is the total cost of farming, manure, seed planting, weeding, and harvesting costs. And, it is going to take 3 years to harvest. I have a small clinic that will facilitate the coffee plantation costs and the moment this dream comes true, I will be able to feed my family, and pay for my son’s school fees and other development projects."

"I used to have my own cow but I sold it for buying a big land to feed my family of 5 people , but I can't get enough yield without fertilizers. No electricity in our house, my children don't sleep well ,no beds ,no matelas that affected their performance at school. Last year 2022, the climate changed, I haven't got enough food to feed my family and the price of food was increased."

"My husband Rucamumakuba left me since 1994 because of poverty before he was very rich, he was having a bar in our village selling beer and meat. Living alone, doing everything on my own was very tough and that leads me to severe poverty. I was living alone now in the house that I have built after selling my own cow and now the house is very old, need to renew it but I can't afford the price. I am 73 years old, I can't work for money $1 per day in others farms , it is not easy to get food"

"The main challenge we are facing is that we have a small land in which we grow our crops. It is a challenge because we don't get enough production from it and for that it requires us to go for searching other income generating activities like cultivating for others so that we can get money to buy food to support our own produce . The other challenge is that we don't have a cow and because of that we are lacking manure to use in our agriculture activities hence the low production. In addition, living in this muddy house without fencing is another challenge, we would like to cover it with cement and build a fence."

"The main challenge we are facing is poverty as it is hard for us to find something to eat. The reason why I am mentioning poverty is that , compared to other neigbors some have cows and big land to cultivate but for us we even sometimes go to cultivate for others in order to get the food. You can also tell by looking the state in which our house is. We have small land and we cannot rely on it's produce, it requires us to rent the land when we have money to pay for, if not we cultivate that one only and continue to cultivate for others. We don't have our own cow except the one we are raising for the neigbor."

"The main challenge we are facing is poverty as you can see we don't have enough clothes, we need to be clean in our homes and we don't have money to buy so. We don't have enough food and because of that we take one meal per day. And that is a big one because no one can't work with empty stomach."
