"I have a goal of raising livestock because I have been working as a peasant farmer for a considerable amount of time. In addition to the six goats I have, I intend to purchase more. This is because after discovering that goats are inexpensive to maintain and have a ready market, I wish to invest in livestock. By doing this, since goats are easily convertible into money, I will have a reliable source of income."

"Giving us financial support is something that GiveDirectly does exceptionally effectively, in my opinion. With this money, everyone is free to prioritize their spending and make sensible financial decisions. At the individual level, everyone will benefit greatly from this. Yet, I can't think of anything that GiveDirectly might be doing better. Everything they do is flawless and extremely well-organized."

"I currently want to invest in rental properties. On my one acre parcel of property at the trading center, I plan to build some rental homes. I was able to use the first transfer to purchase this plot. After seeing the potential of my property and that properly maintained rental properties do not disappoint in terms of income generation, I came up with this concept. I have been saving money for that, but I intend to borrow money from a financial institution where I have been saving money in order to achieve my aim."

"As far as my observation is concerned, I was very satisfied with your services same as many people in the family. What GiveDirectly does well is doing everything independently without involving stakeholders who might politicize the process. That was a job well done."

"I am having four children who are still schooling both in primary and secondary. Providing for their educational needs has been a great burden to me. The recent transfer was a big boost to their education. I used $170 to pay off all the fee arrears and as we speak they are happy going to school without their studies being interrupted due to unpaid fees. Moreover, I invest $70 in my small grocery business by purchasing more vegetables like tomatoes, cabbages and dry fish. Currently, I am glad that the business is stable and the income has increased by $2 per day. Furthermore, I used $75 of the remaining amount to acquire proper bedding for my children who were spending their nights on the floor. Lastly, I bought enough food and clothing for the family with the remaining amount of money."

"The transfers came as a blessing to our family. We were going through a tough season where the cost of living had gone up and threatened our existence. We never had milk for household consumption and so the idea of purchasing a dairy cow had crossed our minds only that we didn't have the means. GiveDirectly transfers were a big enabler, we used the money to purchase a dairy cow. We were in dire need to have a cow for milk production and for posterity so that we could remember GiveDirectly with it in the future. We purchased a cow worth KES 30000 and the rest of the money to buy clothing."

"I hope to be self-sufficient in terms of milk production. I long to add one cow to my stock and to plant feeds for the livestock to boost their productivity to enable me to produce enough milk for household consumption and sell the surplus to get disposable income"

"We have a small piece of land, and to be able to produce enough for our family, we have to rent from others, and we don't get manure because we don't own any livestock. We have to do casual labour to raise money to buy inorganic fertiliser, which is expensive, and we are not able to get as much as we need. We don't have access to capital to start a business, we approached Sacco ( Saving and Credit Cooperative) to ask for a loan but we failed to provide a mortgage because we didn't have a land at that time thus we didn't get the money we wanted."

"What GiveDirectly does well is changing lives of many less fortunate people in the society in so many ways. People have been able to build houses, pay school fees for their children, start business and many more. Thank you for your continued support to the word's most poorest."

"The main challenge I am facing is that my house is very old and when it rains the rain pass through the walls and reach inside which is a big challenge. When I try to cover it with mud it doesn't last. When the rain period arrives it's really hard for me."
