"I am working on expanding my house. As you can see I have been buying iron sheets which I have been saving towards building and expanding my house. I have a family of 4 and my husband’s casual labour or my burning and selling of charcoal has not provided funds sufficient to redirect any extra money on adding to our house and I hope Givedirectly transfers will help me achieve this goal."

"As I said I am the sole breadwinner and this puts alot of pressure on me with my mobile business. My salon business is a good one but it can only fetch so much when I am only hired by those who know my skills. Getting a station to work from with increase those that seek my services and thats why I am saving with the aim of putting up a small salon for my business by December. I am also buying goats because I want to afford to buy a cow. I will eventually sell the goats kids and use the money to buy a cow."

"My life was good during the period of time my business was running and my hope is to restart this business again. I hope to save my subsequent transfers to use it for restarting the business. Right now I am farming but the proceeds from farming take longer to be seen so I hope I am able to meet a substantial amount to restart my business and provide for my family."

"My goal is to first harvest the crops I planted and this will mean my family gets food and I may just end up with some surplus that I can sell for gain. I also aim on adding afew more animals such as chicken and goats and this is because I want to have something to remember this project by. I want that once the 5 years are done I can still see the proceeds from this transfers and animals stand as the best memorabilia to have and also they will earn me some money as they reproduce."

"I never got a chance to go to school and I my opportunities to work are quite limited hence I mostly farm or sell food items to my fellow villagers. I however do not want my children to end up like me. I believe education can open alot of doors for them and since most are girls I would really love for them to at least get a secondary school education. I have been buying goats and chicken with the transfers and I hope to continue doing so until I am able to have a big number where I can sell them and ue the proceeds to pay school fees for my 6 school going children."

"For a long time, I relied on my husband for everything, despite the fact that he does not have a stable job. He works casual construction jobs that are unpredictable and low-paying. Some days he can stay without a job, making it difficult to feed our children. To lessen his burden, I plan to buy more chickens every month until I have a fully operational poultry project in the coming year and beyond. It's easier for me to manage on my own and doesn't require much expertise. I've bought a few chickens so far and hope to buy more as time goes on. I can easily sell the chickens to fund my children's education as well as other financial obligations."

"I am a hair dresser and during this season is very hard to get customers for my kind of business because every person is trying to save the little money they have to sustain their families and find it so hard to get money for food. This is the most challenging part of my life because of my health I am not able to carry heavy things and do heavy work. I am diabetic."
