"I had wanted to get more animals as an investment but I have had to long since put that dream on hold. My children are growing up fast and they all need to get through school. I want to direct my finances from the transfers to their school fees for the next year to ensure they all finish school. My husband and I do not make much and so we cannot educate the children on our own. We are thankful for Givedirectly transfers and I hope that we are able to get the children to secondary school using this transfers."

"Givedirectly has given me a chance to hope and dream. I am a trained tailor but not practicing now. I have not been able to do any tailoring works because I do not have the machine to sew clothes. I however have plans of renting out a shop near my place and use it as a shop where I can do my work as a tailor. I plan to buy the sewing machine soon, I now have $100 in savings and hope to get to $150 which will be enough to buy a sewing machine."

I want to accumulate enough of this cash to allow me build the new house. I now have 5 iron sheets for the house and hope to buy more from my group savings as well as additional transfers that I will continue to receive."

"I would love to have all my children clear school. Givedirectly funds given to me and my wife have been used to school our children. I have also used a portion of the transfer to buy food for the family. This is because its no longer raining and our food reserves have been depleted. We farm maize, If we are able to harvest a significant amount of maize, I will be able to redirect the entire transfers to school fees. I also will be able to have some money left to buy some goats which remains a dream of mine as animals multiply and can give an income which can be used when there are needs."

"I have a different mindset since being enrolled in the Givedirectly transfers. I believe this cash is mean to help my family to create investment. I have one acre piece of land with orange and lime tree on it. I however would want to increase the number of fruit tree I have by purchasing a larger piece of land. This is to also allow for my family to have farm land. I know that an increase tree cover contributes to how much it rains in a place and as someone who has tasted drought I would want to change our place from a dry place to a place that rains more frequently through a bigger tree cover. It also contributes to a cool environment which is something I also hope to achieve."

"It pains me a lot that I never got a chance to get an education. I pray my children never know such pain. My goal for the transfers that I am still receiving from Givedirectly is to educate my children. I believe when all the 8 of them have gotten a good education and have the ability to depend on themselves then I will get a chance to rest from this hard labour of burning charcoal which has some bad effects even to my own health and allow them to support me in their capacity."

"My goal was and still remains to educate my children with this transfers. I would probably be unable to get any of them to school if I depended on my income entirely. The increase in fuel prices have reduced our profits greatly which means that whatever we make cannot do much back at home. My goal is to ensure my oldest who is in their last year of high school to complete school and the siblings that are right after to also have a similar chance to clear school. I also would like to restart the business for my wife that she was previously doing of selling food but on this I am dependent on my earnings."
