Chepkirui
received a $435 second payment.
"I have a 1 acre piece of land that I intend to fence and practice farming on it. I specifically want to plant maize. With the current economy, maize has become so scarce. I can use the maize to pay school fees for my 2 children. I will save the money I would have used to buy maize and use it on constructive things. I can also sell the maize."

Jonathan
received a $450 second payment.
"My child just started high school and I paid $120 for the first term. I also have two more children in high school of which I had not paid their school fees. The debt had accumulated to $180 and I paid it. I work as a brick mason, getting a daily wage of $30 a week. The money is used to buy food for my family. For a long time paying school fees for my children has been a struggle. A lot of time the children have been sent home which became embarrassing to them and they once opted to stop school. It broke my heart but promised then I will try my best to find the money."

Agnes

"I spent $200 on buying chairs that I plan to start renting whenever the villagers have ceremonies or meetings. I also bought a big sauce pan that I would also rent out. I retired back in 2021 and since then I have not received my pension money. It has been difficult to survive without a salary since I was used to it. My husband has been helping out and I am thankful. Receiving this money has enabled open a business that will generate an income for me."
