Kadzo
received a $27 sixth payment.
"As I said earlier my husband is our sole breadwinner since I do not have a job, however his earnings are not sufficient for to take care of all the needs and most times we are forced to make choices of whats important. Our house was recently blown away by the wind and we could not salvage it. We had to move into my son's sma;; house that he had built to live since our finances were not sufficient to build a new house. My hope this year is to build a house for my family since where we are staying belongs to my son and when he finishes school he will need somewhere to stay."

"I am an animal farmer and I have not been making much but I struggled to take my children through school, now I have three grow adults who are trying to make ends meet. I had taken them through school hoping they would one day return the favour and take care of me in my old age it things have gotten so tough that I cannot depend on them for everything. I had bought a plot of land and had really wanted to develop it but I did nit have enough finances so when I got GD transfers I decided I would use it for this development since my children take care of helping me get food. I know that once this structure is completed which is my goal for the year using GD transfers, I will be able to rent the shops out at $30 which will give me some income. I will also be able to take one of the four rooms and use the money I get after to put up a business."

Sidi
received a $27 sixth payment.
"I started my business because I needed a source of income. I had stopped selling charcoal as now it takes quite a while before you get stumps to make charcoal. I started a business selling general groceries which has allowed me to get an income. My aim this year is to expand my business by making monthly addition to it from my GD transfers. I also believe that animals are a good way of making money. I want to be able to buy some more goats which I will trade later or trade their offsprings in case of need."

"Lack of food is the challenge I am currently facing. I do casual jobs that give me approximately $18 per month which caters both for food and school fees for my four school-going children. Being a casual job it is not always accessible. My family takes one meal per day only in the evening. This has affected their education. Two days ago the children never went to school because they had last taken food two days back. They were so week that they could not walk to school."

"Lack of reliable income is the challenge I am currently facing. I do charcoal burning for sale and I earn approximately $45 per month. My husband does casual jobs at Mombasa earning $60 per month. This money caters to my children's education and it is even not enough. My children have been on and off of school due to lack of school fees. This has affected their performance."

Sadaka
received a $27 sixth payment.
"Our region's climate presents a significant challenge for us in ensuring food safety. Due to a lack of rain, we can no longer grow food crops on our farms. Our sole economic activity is raising livestock, particularly goats because they can withstand the harsh climatic conditions. Owning a lot of livestock and hoping for rain later in the year will be my biggest accomplishments this year. My initial investment will rise as a result of the livestock growing and profiling more quickly."

Kache
received a $27 sixth payment.
"I'd really like to put a lot of money into raising livestock, especially goats. Goats are my preferred animal because they can endure harsh climatic conditions like the one we are currently experiencing. They also multiply quickly, so I know that once they increase in number, my initial investment will double. With my wealth increasing, I know I would always have assets to rely on in case of an emergency, like having to pay a fee."

"My biggest accomplishment this year and moving forward will be opening a kiosk business where I'll be selling various products like maize flour, sugar, and tea leaves. As I contribute to the household bills, this will help my relieve husband financial burden. In addition to opening a business, I'd love to construct a larger kitchen where I could prepare meals for my family. The one I currently possess is inadequate and in poor shape."

received a $27 fourteenth payment.
"After having a lot of issues living with my in-laws, my biggest headache was buying land and leaving my marital home. After accomplishing this, I'd love to accumulate enough savings to launch a kiosk business. Given that he only makes a meager living as a mason, I will support my husband by using the profit from the business to pay the rising expenses. Starting a business will be my most notable accomplishment this year and beyond."

Peris
received a $410 second payment.
"I intend to do an investment. I chose to create a grocery store after doing some research because, as a result of the prolonged drought, vegetables are difficult to get in our village. I am convinced that doing this would generate significant sales because consumers travel great distances in search of vegetables. I will be able to support my family's needs because of this business. In addition to buying and selling vegetables, I want to build a vegetable garden next to my home because I can use the adjacent access to swamp water for irrigation. As a result, purchasing vegetables for sale will be more affordable."
