Jumwa
received a $27 sixth payment.
"I want to buy goats, let them breed, and expand the herd so that I can sell them anytime to pay the school fees for my children and keep them in school. Having livestock will relieve me of the stress I get when my students miss classes due to unpaid balances. I will be happy if I bought at least ten goats by the end of the year. "

Changawa
received a $27 sixth payment.
"To increase my income streams and provide for my family better, I have always wished to venture into poultry farming. However, the lack of the necessary resources and skills has hampered the realization of this dream since every penny I earn is consumed by food costs. I only hope for the rains to return so that I can produce food in my farm and spend the cash transfer on starting the poultry-keeping business. "

Richard
received a $411 second payment.
"My family of eight had been living in a single mud-walled and grass-thatched hut. My desire had been to build a new, spacious house, but financial constraints prevented me from doing so. A new house would save us a great deal and time since we will be fetching rainwater from the roof, as well as provide a spacious room for my entire family to stay safe from the extreme cold and leaking roof during rainy seasons. I am glad I bought 24 iron sheets at $75 each after receiving the second transfer, as well as building poles and roofing frames. We are already living in it, despite the fact that we are still furnishing the walls and interior. Furthermore, I used the remaining funds to purchase three goats, each worth $40. I am raising them with the intention of selling their offspring in the future to pay for my two children's school fees, who are currently in grade 8."

"Subsistence farming, being my major source of livelihood has greatly been affected by the prolonged drought. This means I have to engage in alternative ventures, especially charcoal work to make ends meet. Since I have 2 children still in primary school, I find it so hard to sustain our needs at home. My job does not earn me much, say, $30 per month, an income that I get in beats. This has greatly affected my children's studies since they often miss classes. This situation has robbed away my joy because it pains me most to find myself not in a position to support my family of 4."

received a $27 fourteenth payment.
"Currently, I do not have a reliable source of income, and my plan is to open an account that will allow me to save part of the transfers that I would be receiving. My ultimate goal is to venture into the business of buying and selling livestock, and the savings from my account would be of great help in terms of starting the business."

"I have a lager family and the house that we currently live in is a small one roomed house. My plan is to build a bigger house that would accommodate my entire family well. Therefore I plan to look for a job and with the income that I would be earning together with the transfers would help me achieve my goals."
