Cellestine
received a $433 second payment.
"The approach used by GiveDirectly right from the start when we were sensitized and equipped with the project's details was very clear. All the promises made were all delivered, and in my opinion, this was an incomparably work well done throughout our village and even beyond. The staff were true to their words and gave out the same information in every household that removed any doubt that the project could have been untrue. There is nothing wrong with the whole operation as many attest to the fact that GiveDirectly did the best to change our living standards."

Gladys
received a $433 second payment.
"With my family of three children, our beddings were worn out and so I bought some new pairs for $200. When I received my first transfer, I had started building my house but I had not finished, so I used $200 of the second transfer to complete it. I spent the last bit of the transfer buying household foodstuff, an extra piece of furniture, and kitchenwares that were missing in our home. I am grateful for the support from GiveDirectly and hope to keep improving the few projects we started."

Zawadi
received a $433 second payment.
"Since I separated with my husband who was the sole bread winner in the family, life has not been easy. I moved back home to my parents place with my two children. The second transfer was helpful in buying food since my parents are not working. I bought two goats for $60 which I raise at home. I bought some utensils, furniture and new pairs of clothes for my two children, and saved the remaining amount to use in checking any household item that we may run short of in the future."

Penina
received a $433 second payment.
"Earlier on when I received the first transfer, I started on building a house since the one we were staying in was dilapidated. Unfortunately, I did not manage to have it completed and so I finished it up with the second transfer were I spend $200. The beddings we were using were also worn out and thus I had to get some new ones which costed me $100. When things were tough, I had taken a small loan from a microfinance to help with the daily expenses. I used $45 to repay it back since I had pending arrears for four months. In addition, I used $60 of the remaining transfer to buy food for my family for the next two months. I added some more chicken worth $40 and purchased a bag of chicken feed for $30. I used the rest of the money to buy new clothes for my kid and myself. I am grateful for the generous support we received, as well as the transformation I have seen in my family since then."
