Linner
received a $440 initial payment.
"One of the biggest differences in my life today is that my children have been able to go to school and are studying comfortably since I was able to clear their tuition fees. Moreover, I am now able to harvest rainwater since I bought a bigger water tank which had been a challenge before due to financial constraints. I am more than happy and contented with my current accomplishments."

Kadzo
received a $28 sixth payment.
"After purchasing and settling my own land, courtesy of the cash transfer, my next aim is to start rearing livestock. Keeping these animals will gradually build my wealth, and ensure that I have a ready and reliable stream of income in the future, even after the transfers cease. Though I bear huge financial obligations, I wish to have bought at least two goats by the end of the year. I trust the upcoming transfers to enable me to accomplish this goal. "

Kache
received a $28 sixth payment.
"Currently, my focus is on building a shed for my three goats. Since I acquired them, they have been sheltering under the same roof as me, which I presume is not healthy. Besides, as these animals reproduce, they will need a larger space for the offspring, which my one-room house cannot provide. I would be happy if I could save enough money from future transfers to construct the shed in a span of a year. "

Sadaka
received a $28 tenth payment.
"I have always desired to own a wooden bed and a cozy mattress but lack of finances and financial constraints burden me. The sisal-twined bed that I use is old and broken on one side, which gives me uncomfortable sleep and deprives me of sufficient rest. Before the year ends, I wish to have bought a more decent bed and a fitting mattress so that I can finally enjoy my nights. As I save for these items, I will also save towards the college fees of my daughter. I would be happy if she graduates next year having had a smooth learning experience with no frequent interruptions to pick up tuition money. "

Daisy
received a $144 initial payment.
"I was as excited as any other member of our village when I confirmed the receipt of the first transfer. I had a lot planned, but first I prioritized buying groceries for my family of six that evening. I collected $50 from a nearby shopping center, Loboi, and spent it on food shopping and household items, including toiletries. Given the nature of our surroundings, which is characterized by scorching sun for the greater part of the year, we had a great plan to invest in goat farming. It was unfortunate that the plan we had to start was shattered when my 14-year-old epileptic child fell into the embers of an open charcoal fire. We had to rush him to a nearby hospital in an ambulance because his burns were so severe. I have been in the hospital since then, moving from one hospital unit to the next, and today was his third time in an operating room, where he was undergoing a skin grafting procedure. Seeing him wrapped in bandages with a doctor's report indicating 50% burns and still alive is a blessing. I am relieved that the swelling in my head, eyes, and legs is subsiding, and I hope we will be able to leave soon. I left my other four family members at home and am looking forward to seeing them as soon as we are released. My dream of investing in goats remains unfulfilled, but I believe it will come true before I exhaust the last transfer."

Slohblee
received a $239 second payment.
"I used half of my transfer to purchase one lot of land in Fishtown. It has been my wish to leave an asset behind for my children when I die, but I haven't had money to even buy a piece of land. The current house I reside in is a family house where I only occupy one bedroom with my children and it is embarrassing to live in the same room with your children. I bought the land to make my dream come to reality and that is to have my own house.
I also used the rest of my transfer to invest in a new business (dried goods - beans, soap, rice, pepper, seasonings); the business will help make my money grow and continue bringing in money to complete my house to my taste."

Theresa
received a $239 third payment.
"I used all of my third transfer on my five children's school fees. I have three children in Fishtown attending the Tweh Jayklay high school, where the oldest girl is in 7th grade, and my two younger boys are in 4th grade; the two smaller children are in 2nd and 1st grade respectively at a school in Jorproken here. I decided to spend my transfer on my children's fees because my they are my future; once they are educated, they will do great things for me and bring my pride and happiness as well as helping themselves to survive."

received a $440 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in our life is the fact that we own a nice house for the family. I can not wait to finalize by putting doors and to relocate to the new house. I will no longer have to suffer during rain seasons due to the leaking roof."

"I want to make a specific request to GiveDirectly: please don't stop doing the fantastic work you've already started because it has a beneficial impact on us. We were able to address the various needs that presented us with the greatest challenges thanks to these moves. We are overjoyed to have this flawless organization operating in our community. In other words, I can assert that despite the organization's lack of discrimination and accommodation for every sane household, it gave us who had nowhere to turn hope."
