"My most recent transfer I'm use it on my house project .I bought two bundle of zinc and few building materials for the completion of my house.Life has been so difficult for me and my family. My children have been out of school for so many years because of the low income that I'm getting from the farming."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in giving unconditional cash transfers to poor households. In addition, the frequent follow-up after every transfer helped us to realize our ambitions. I feel the different enrollment stages were well explained during the community meeting and were easy to understand. Hence, there is nothing I feel they should improve on their processes."

"After accomplishing a lot with the second transfer, the only goal I have left is to boost my dairy farming. I intend to save enough money from the taxi business to purchase two more dairy cows. Achieving this desire will increase milk production, resulting in more income for the family. The money I will make from selling milk will reduce the burden of providing basic needs for the family, like food. I also intend to save some for my kids' education and invest in other development projects."

"Currently, my focus is on starting my food-point business. I have been preparing for this venture by buying the necessary furniture and utensils through previous cash transfers. My hope is that I obtain my business license in the following two months so that I can officially begin operations. I wish for the spot to have expanded and garnered customers by the end of the year. After that, I intend to start keeping livestock, particularly goats, so that as they multiply, they can accumulate wealth that will support the education of my children who are still in primary school. "

"Following the December rains, my house's mud walls were seriously damaged. Am afraid that the entire structure may crumble anytime as it seems unsteady and slanting towards one side. Besides, it is a one-room house, which is becoming small for my growing family of nine people. My goal is to have built a new two-room shelter, made of brick walls and a tin roof by early next year. I hope to continue having the capacity to save part of the cash transfers so that I can start buying the building materials. "

"I have always wished to replace my house’s grass-thatched roof with an iron sheet roof but financial constraints and lack of sufficient funds have hindered me. The grass-thatched roof has spoilt over the last six years, mainly from infestation by insects. When it rains, water leaks through the roof, which dampens our sleeping spaces. To successfully install the tin roof, I estimated the cost to be around $300. However, the biggest challenge is that am not sure how I will raise this amount, given my existing financial obligations; am stuck! "

"I have been feeling upbeat ever since I began investing in livestock because I feel encouraged by how quickly they are growing. This is a guarantee that I won't have to struggle to support my family because there are ready markets for goats. Based on that, if I obtain some money, I intend to add more goats."

"Upon getting the second transfer, I opted to do some finishing of my house. What triggered me to this, I wanted to have a decent house courtesy of GiveDirectly. Therefore, I used $243 to buy plastering and flooring materials like cement including the labor charge. Currently, I am very happy and confident because I live in a decent house. I also paid $50 school fees for my six primary schoolchildren because they had been sent back home for fees. Currently, they are settled in school and conducting their studies. Initially, I used to rely solely on making and selling charcoal which was unreliable while my spouse is working as a night watchman. We could go up to two days a week without food since making the ends meet was a challenge for us. Based on that, I opted to save the remaining amount for the family's upkeep. As of now, since I got the transfers from GiveDirectly, we have been getting enough food to date."

"Around 4 pm, when I was hiding from the oppressive sun and having a sleep, my phone beeped with a message. To see what the message was about, I reached out to take it up off the bed's edge. What an evening! I was shocked to discover that the initial transfer of $550 had been made to my account. I sprung out of bed and danced joyfully after receiving such a sizable sum of money. I was quite grateful to GiveDirectly because it was the first time I had ever received such a sum."

"Due to my reliance on charcoal burning for living, it was challenging for me to cover my kids' tuition. I chose to pay for their school expenses even though they hadn't been expelled when I received the second transfer. I took this action because I was aware that if I didn't, I would utilize them for other things and end up stuck. I therefore spent $270 on my two secondary school-aged kids and $28 on my elementary-aged kids. After completing this, I felt relaxed and grateful that there won't be any disruptions for my kids at school. I made a decision to save the balance for the family's maintenance after that."
