What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my recent transfer to purchase Planks, nails and door frame for my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done extremely well for me. I am a farmer and it is through this that we have been surviving. I also sell liquor in my house which I used the profit to send my children to school. So, I was very excited when Givedirectly selected me as one of the recipients. My family and I have been living in a relative house for years. I couldn't afford to build a house because the little profit from the business was not sufficient to to send my children to school and buy building materials. However, when I received my transfers from Givedirectly, I was able to purchase all of my building materials.I am waiting for the carpenter to begin the process soon. Therefore, I want to be grateful to Givedirectly who have made it possible for me to build a house for my family.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I hope to see myself living in a decent house and build my shop so that I will be able to support my children in school.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"I did not attend school all my life. Therefore, farm work is my only means of livelihood for my children. I spend more time brushing and planting but the ground hugs destroy a huge portion of the farm. Whatever is left of the farm after the ground hugs have eaten much of the crops, is what I take home for us to eat. It's hardly enough for us but I keep going to the farm because it's the only thing that I know how to do. My children are not living the life I want them to live. The challenges are too many for me to handle and it's frustrating for me!"
What is the happiest part of your day?
The best thing that has brought me joy or happiness in the last six months is Givedirectly's arrival today. I say thank you plenty to give directly for this great program to help Liberians lime myself who are extremely in need. I am really waiting for this cash transfer to be sent as soon as possible because I'll be building my first house very soon upon receiving my money. My five children who have never been to school would be enrolled for the first time. This brings me the greatest joy and happiness as a mother!"
What does receiving this money mean to you?
"Right now, I'm living in my aunt's house. I'm mostly insulted and told words like, "big woman like you, make it and leave from my house and get your own place". Therefore, the very first thing that comes to my mind in spending this cash transfer is constructing a house for myself and my children so that I can finally have my own space and a peace of mind. Of my five children, none of them are attending school. So, I'll have all of them enrolled with this cash transfer as soon as I receive it!"
