Lydia
received a $412 second payment.
"My main goal was to buy a dairy cow to feed my family. For the longest time, I have been struggling to get the money to buy milk for my family, but I am currently happy because the cow that I managed to buy with the transfers had been of help in terms of milk production. I believe in the future, the cow would give birth to offspring, and with the increase in number leading to an increase in the litres of milk produced, I would want to become one of the milk suppliers in the area."

Peace
received a $397 second payment.
"My goal was to have my own house. After my husband and I separated, I had nowhere else to go but to return to my parent’s place and I had to look for money to build a house and live with my two children. Since I started the construction, I, therefore, plan to finish it up completely by end of this year and to achieve this, I had saved some amount and will still continue saving the little I get to help me achieve my dream."

"GiveDirectly is doing a great job in terms of alleviating poverty within the communities. I have been struggling financially for the longest time to an extent of not being able to even have a better house, but GiveDirectly came to my rescue and finally, I have managed to afford a smile. In addition, it does everything to perfection and there is nothing to improve on."

Agnes
received a $397 second payment.
"The transfers that I have been receiving from GiveDirectly had been such a blessing to my family. My husband and I had been struggling financially but nothing seemed to be working, getting money to educate our children or to provide better meals had been quite a challenge. But upon GiveDirectly coming into our lives, life had changed for the better. It was my husband’s dream to one day own a motorcycle that he would use to do business with, and finally, he saw his dream come true. The transfers had been of help because I spent part of my first transfer as a down payment to purchase him a secondhand motorcycle from a friend and finally cleared the remaining amount with part of the second transfer worth $160, and he finally became a proud owner of something he had been longing for. With the remaining transfers, I managed to spend $35 on debt payments, $40 on school fees for my two school-going children, $60 on the purchase of bedding and the remaining on food and other shopping for the family. Thanks to Givedirectly for bringing such an impactful program into our lives."

Mwenda
received a $397 second payment.
"My main goal is to have a livestock-rearing project. I have been struggling financially, a situation that I would no longer want to experience in the future with my family. Therefore, I would want to buy livestock and so far I had bought a cow that I believe would bear offspring in the future and help my family financialy. Considering the state of my current house, I also would want to see myself in a better house, and the transfers had so far played a greater role and I believe in the few weeks to come, I would be in the new place courtesy of GiveDirectly."

Amina
received a $397 second payment.
"The transfers that I received was of great help to me because I received them at a time when I was in dire need of money. I had commenced the construction of two rental houses which were halfway completed, and due to the lack of money, I could not carry on with them. I was also stressed because I was required to settle school fees for my two children who were in primary school and also to buy new items for the one who was to join junior high school, and considering the family’s financial situation, nothing was working for us. Luckily I received the transfers and I felt like I was relieved of a huge burden. I managed to buy the roofing sheets worth $300 so that I could finish up on the construction project, I also paid school fees for the primary school-going children worth $100 and bought school items for the child who was yet to join junior high school where I also spent $100. With the remaining amount of $30, I managed to buy food for my family and currently, I feel much more relaxed and happy for the great financial support that GiveDirectly accorded us."
