"My husband was not responsible and I had to part ways with him many years ago. This has forced me to live my own life at my maternal home although he sometimes visit us, maybe after a period of 2 year. Raising my son single-handedly yet I have a husband who is not responsible is a very tough life. This means I have to assume all the household responsibilities and I am required to engage in casual jobs to earn some cash for food. In addition, my house collapsed and I can not construct a new one because I do not have money. This has compelled me to seek refuge in my brother's house, a situation that has worsen my social status. What a life!"

"I work for Sunking sub-branch as an agent where my role is to make sales in the community. This job has many challenges including low pay, fatigue, and meeting difficult clients. Since I walk as I make my sales, it has made me so weak because it takes time to reach a reliable customer. Considering the nature of this job, I always feel so embarrassed by these challenges because I do not have an alternative job, I am forced to perform it. In a week, I receive a commission of $15 which I use to support us for food. This means I can not save anything for my future, a situation that has worried me the most. Hence, I consider the lack of a reliable source of income as my greatest challenge."

"We are old, feeble, and unable to actively participate in income-generating activities unlike in the past. As a result we have become food insecure since our productivity has gone down. We used to practice maize farming but we no longer do so on the scale we used to do because it is labor-intensive. We have been forced to do with the inadequacy of foodstuffs and it makes our lives difficult, we buy food and sometimes it is unaffordable. Our immediate need is food, nothing else but it has proved hard sometimes to afford."

"We were displaced by bandits in Arabal. We borrowed land here just to sojourn as we hope for the security situation to get better so that we can return to our land. Our livestock was taken away by the bandits from Pokots and it exposed us to poverty since it was the only source of our livelihood. We were forced to reconstruct and start from scratch and it has not been easy, it pains us a lot to imagine the loss we experienced. It is so bad that we are now struggling to see our 3 children through their education. We hardly afford and it worries us."

"I am determined to restore my deteriorating house, which currently faces numerous issues. The roof is in dire need of attention, with rusty iron sheets that have aged to the point of developing holes, causing rainwater to seep in during storms. Additionally, the mud walls of the house have deteriorated and crumbled. My primary goal for the upcoming year is to restore my house to a state of good repair. The upcoming transfer of funds will be instrumental in purchasing the necessary materials for this renovation project. I am profoundly thankful for the financial support, as it will undoubtedly enhance my quality of life."

"In the days that lie ahead, my main dream revolves around acquiring a pair of plowing bulls. The bulls will not only till the farm for my crop cultivation, ensuring a steady supply of food for my loved ones, but they will also stand as valuable assets for hire. Every coin earned from my animal vending business finds a secret home in my savings, nurturing the seed of this aspiration. One day, as the sun bathes the land in a warm glow, I'll see my fields thrive under the careful guidance of those two noble bulls, their strength mirroring my resolute spirit, and their plows turning the soil into a canvas of sustenance and prosperity."

"In the upcoming year, my goal is to expand my goat herd beyond the current eight. This investment holds significant promise as the goats, through reproduction, can not only augment my initial capital but also offer potential sales for meeting my future financial requirements. I am truly grateful for the financial assistance we've received, particularly during the extended period of drought, as it has greatly eased our financial struggles."
