"I spent most of my third transfer on paying my children's tuition in Monrovia and also paid the workmanship for my house."

"As of now, life is not easy. Things are tough due to the high inflation of commodities in the country but I am grateful that I am alive. I aim to start a shop where I will be selling fast-moving items such as foodstuff. This shop will be my investment. To achieve this, I am saving a few coins from charcoal burning which is the main source of income I have. Even though it is an unreliable job, I am optimistic about succeeding in my plans."

"I aim to invest in livestock specifically goats. I chose goats over cows because goats can survive without water for a longer time compared to cows. Again they are cheap to maintain and they have read markets since they are affordable and thus can be converted to monetary value anytime the need arises. Through this investment, I will be able to sustain my family without straining."

Kadzo received a $214 second payment.
"I am grateful that I received the second transfer of $265.75. The amount had to be split after I parted with my husband due to family wrangles that had nothing to do with GiveDirectly. When I received the money, I bought three goats in the name of gifting my three young children. I did this so that they will never forget GiveDirectly since they know they got the goats because of the organization. The purpose of buying the goats was to start a livestock investment because goats have ready markets and they can be sold anytime a need arises. Thereafter, I started a grocery shop which has been sustaining my family to date."

"Initially, our community people did not have any investments due to poverty. They could not start any kind of business because whatever they got was from hand to mouth. GiveDirectly enables us and uplifted us to a higher level of investment. Currently, people have invested in livestock farming and other businesses which give them their daily needs. On my side, I feel the shop business will work out well for me."

"GiveDirectly did a well-thought agenda of giving cash to the locals. By doing so, it allowed the people to choose what they thought the cash would help them to improve their lives. I am not against any of the plans of the organization, I support them fully. Although I have a recommendation, if possible I request the cash program to be carried out three times instead of the two transfers."

"Before withdrawing the second transfer, I sat to prioritize how best I could spend it. After constructive thinking, I opted to invest the whole amount into my daughter's education since she was joining the university. Since my husband and I are casual laborers we could not manage to take her to the university. Therefore, we saw that was a prudent idea to pay the whole amount to the school to get ample time to source for the next semester's fee. I am happy that she is settled comfortably in the university. After doing so, I felt relieved and I had peace of mind."

"GiveDirectly is a faultless organization in my view. The organization came to empower the community members. In our area, the majority of the children in the families are now back to school after dropping out due to school fees. The source of their return to school is GiveDirectly. Without biases, I confess that GiveDirectly is an impactful organization."

"Thanks to GiveDirectly funds, I rented a 1-acre plot of land where I am now growing watermelon. I quickly paid off my 50% debt on a power saw and stocked up on food for myself and my two households. I say two because I have two wives: my first (with whom I am still married) and my second (with whom I am no longer married). We share 8 children, and some of the money was used to pay for their education tuition. My sixth-born is the most expensive, requiring $200 per term at Misihu Secondary, while the others are in various stages of completion, pausing and starting their educational journeys, primarily due to a lack of funds in the past. My wife works at a small grocery store near our house, so we've needed all the financial help we could get to help us both deal with our responsibilities. We couldn't thank them enough for their assistance."

"I decided to support my husband by contributing to his garage business. With some of the funds from GiveDirectly, I funneled capital to him to purchase some spare parts for when he has clients. I then prioritized purchasing a bed and mattress for myself as well as a mattress for the children, who already had a bed. We built a three-bedroom house with a lovely verandah here at Palakumi. a decent space to call our home and raise our two children. I plait hair for $0.04 or $0.05, with cornrows being the most popular style. That doesn't leave much to chip in on school fees of $69 at Palakumi Primary for PP2, nor for the needs of the 3 month old second born. As such,"
